Great job! I just have the following to add:
# The MCD website goes down on December 13, 2007
# Hulon Pate, Bonnie's son-in-law, leaves a comment on my blog on December 14, 3:30 AM
# On December 15 (according to Tippy's shortlived blog) Heidi Diaz sends an email to Brian (at the Camp) claiming to have shut down the MCD website

One does not use a cadaverous-looking loser as a come on, whereas an attractive freshfaced young woman like Christen fills the bill. I can see Heidi passing up Bonnie in favor of Christin, if, indeed, she knew about Bonnie on Kimkins. That's not hard to accept.

Two more dates:

08/01/06 - Bonnie starts her diet
06/12/07 - Bonnie's 50th birthday--she has lost 160 pounds in 10 months

Sometime after starting her weightloss, Bonnie realized that she needed a "new" diet because she couldn't always get the special food she needed. She says that in the past she had done "Atkins low carb, low fat, Weight Watchers, low calorie, grapefruit diet, cabbage soup diet, diet patch, Jelly Belly bean diet, Herbal life, Shaklee, tops, figurines, diet pills along with so many others that I finally decided enough is enough. ... I would need to put together a plan that would combine a lot of the others I had tried before..."

Notice that Stillman's is not mentioned. What would have prompted Bonnie to combine all those diets and come up with something that was nearly identical to Kimkins? Especially since this new diet was created during the time that the Kimkins site had been launched and was starting to take off? Is it possible that Bonnie became a Kimkins member but was mostly a lurker? Is it possible that she posted there under an unfamiliar screenname and (for whatever reason) Heidi decided not to use her as a success story the way she did with Christin? Are there any Ducks out there who can remember a Kimkins member who fits Bonnie's profile?

Anonymous,
I think you are on the right track. However, wouldn't Heidi want to keep up the marketing and continue to draw in as many members as possible to Kimkins - (mainly because she has already spent all that money and such on advertisement there) - at least until she KNOWS for sure that the site will be shut down? Remember, Heidi thinks she's smarter then everyone and claims to be judgment proof, she also thinks there's nothing wrong with bad publicity (still brings in members). Maybe MCD is ONLY the very LAST resort, "back up" plan. She may be trying to stay far away from MCD out of fear the ducks would find out. So, marketing that site, at this time, could be dangerous for her. She leaves behind too many cookie crumbs! She makes $10 more per person at KK - and people are still signing up (which blows my mind). So, maybe she feels that she can continue on this way, up until she is forced to close the doors. She probably thinks she'll get the heads up from her attorney in plenty of time to move the members from KK to MCD. How she would get away with all that.... I haven't a clue. Seems like the authorities would be watching her every move. Who knows? Certainly, not me! Like you, and the others, it's a theory and nothing more.

Mad for Plaid
I agree with you too! I think the ducks caught on too quick and Heidi had to change her intended plans for MCD and it's marketing. She knows we are watching and she knows we've caught on to MANY MANY of her shady tactics. I wouldn't put anything past Heidi! She'd steal ANYTHING if she thought she could get away with it. Including identities! But, I've got to believe that she has to think twice, now, before making a move - Knowing that the ducks are Hot On Her Trail!!

Ok, another question.... Didn't I read somewhere that Brandon recently bought a whole bunch of domain names? Where did I read that and what does that mean?

Heidi is too busy right now marketing KK (while the ducks pull as many weeds as possible, as quickly as possible) to do any marketing of MCD.

Did I just imply that I believe the two are VERY closely linked? Oh yeah... I wouldn't even be surprised if the original posts on the MCD.net site were nothing more than a captain inspired bit of lunacy, or perhaps Hidey just hoping to somehow throw the ducks off the trail. Then when she sobered up, going back and changing it all to glowing praise of MCD and "Bonnie".

Which I'm not entirely sure "Bonnie" is real, at least in the sense that she's the one behind this. Given someone's admitted penchant for stealing photos, making up success stories, stealing identities - what if she came across some site where she found several photos of the same woman, someone whose information could be used without her ever knowing about it?

Honestly, Bonnie may be smiling in all those photos, but she doesn't look healthy. She looks more like someone with a terminal illness, smiling pretty and looking happy for the camera. Even the picture with the two other women who are supposedly on her diet - good grief, she looks like she's leaning on them, and can't stand on her own without their support!

That's why I pointed out how the MCD price all of a sudden went up when KK's assets were frozen. IF they are as closely linked as one would think, based on the fact that they're not only touting similar diet plans, but that the MCD site design was cloned from KK, I suspect the thinking was that this will be the backup site, for whenever the AG/Feds/whoever pulls the plug on the KK site.

As far as raising prices on both sites, instead of trying to undercut each other - well, to me that's just another big red flag that neither site is considered to be any kind of competition for the other, instead more like some kind of back-up or "sister site" - same scam, different site, just to try to fly under the duck radar, when we have the evidence that Hidey planned to start a back up site to have ready if KK went down. But we caught on to it far too early for Hidey's plan, which is why she's taken us on this merry chase through .net land.

This is all just my theory, just thinking out loud, trying to put the puzzle pieces together.

Mad for Plaid--

The whole marketing thing of the MCD doesn't make sense to me.

If you have a unique product that is in demand (Wii, iPhone), you hike up your price to get as much money as you can before a competitor figures how how to enter the niche.

If you have a well-known competitor who is in trouble (in this case, it would be Kimkins, which is virtually identical to the MCD), you either increase your advertising or undercut their price (or both) to pull market share away from that competitor.

Instead, Bonnie raised her price and continued not to advertise. What's up with that?

I couldn't help but notice that the MCD price went up after KK's assets were frozen.

Heidi was complaining about not having any money after her assets were frozen. When did she complain/file to have her assets unfrozen? (very technical terms here - I'm no lawyer)

Also, with only 20 members, not archives on the posts on MCD (they went poof after the update), therefore no active members... wouldn't "Bonnie" want to make sure she got as much money as possible from any new members coming in?

I could be completely wrong, just saw a couple dots that might somehow connect.

I hope you slept okay, MJR!

I copied your timelines into Word and put the Kimmer stuff in one color and the MCD in another. Then I put the two timelines together and printed them out. It suggests that there may be a process of cause and effect going on. (Something significant happens to Kimmer, and shortly thereafter, a change is made at MCD.)

The combined timelines also suggest that making money does not seem to be the objective of the MCD. There is very little marketing, even though Bonnie could have used the comments at LCF to guide her into the types of promtion Kimmer had done. Why try to clone Kimmer's site, but not Kimmer's marketing? Also, David's ad specifically requested that the site be search engine optimized. Why did he want that if he wasn't going to use it?

Sounds more like a NIGHTMARE than a bedtime story. Now, I'm going to be up ALL night. LOL

But, that would be right up Heidi's alley. Sounds just like something she'd do.

I like the way you think, Anonymous. Keep telling me stories!
