Kimkins – Magic Chicken Diet

kimmer_current.jpgbonnie-at-135.jpg

OK, I’ve spent 3+++ Days on this post and I’ve given up!

I need some help here, guys!

It’s like a full time job – going back and connecting the dots….so if any of you could shed some light on these connections, or add to them, I’d be more than appreciative.

I feel like if I keep going at this by myself, I’ll never get it (this post) up and posted.  LOL

So keep watching, as I continue to add more and more information to this post over the next few days.  I’ve only touched on very little of this massive, underwater,  iceberg.  I think there is much more to be found.

NEW ADDITIONS WILL BE IN YELLOW

Here is the original post:

Is there a common thread?  A common denominator?

Let’s look at some similarities and differences between the  two and You Be the Judge!

Mariasol has done an amazing recreation of the time-line on the creation and development of the Magic Chicken Diet.  Read all about it here at Mariasol’s Blog.

MCD Time Line:

  •  9/23/02 – Bonnie’s brother registers his condle site candleboxcandles dot com through DomainPeople, Inc.
  • 6/08/06 – Kimmer leaves LCF and opens Kimkins.com
  • 8/01/06 – Bonnie claims to have started her diet
  • 9/07/06 – Bonnie registered her condle site through HostMonster
  • 5/02/07 – MCD website is registered
  • 6/10/07 – Bonnie’s husband, David places an ad at GetAFreelancer for a “CLONE” of Kimkins.
  • 6/12/07 – Bonnie’s 50th Birthday – She has lost 160 pounds in 10 months
  • 6/26/07 – The “Fascination With Kimmer” thread begins at LCF.  First post by “Paula Jayne” asking about Kimmer’s before and after picture.
  • 6/28/07 – Another “Texas Candle Factory” site is registered to someone in CA.
  • 7/03/07 – Kimmer’s Classmate.com picture found by “Tooter” at LCF
  • 7/20/07 – The MCD site is launched.   $19.95 will buy the first 200 members a lifetime membership.
  • 9/11/07 – Bonnie posts her first comment on her site.  She also trys her hand at marketing – by creating a couple of MySpace profiles and uploading pictures and videos of her weight loss success.  She has jumped in with both feet at this point.
  • 10/6/07 – Bonnie’s brother modifies his site through DomainPeople, Inc.
  • 12/9/07 – Bonnie decides to increase the “introductory” price to $69.95. (WOW- such a big jump for such a new company) Even though it is believed that there were only 20 members on board at this time.  And most, if not all were personal friends of Bonnie’s.
  • 12/16/07 – Bonnie’s magic chicken dot net site was registered
  • 12/20/2007 – The Lupers registered the MCD dot net site.
  • 1/31/08 – Someone installed new software at the main MCD site and ALL 70 posts went POOF – GONE!
  • 2/04/08  – Bonnie (?) modified the MCDdot NET site through HostMonster
  • 2/6/08 – Bonnie modified her candle site through HostMonster
  • 2/6/08  – Someone started a VERY UGLY posting rampage at the MCD dot net site.  It was apparent that the “ducks” had ticked Bonnie and/or David off.  The ramblings were painful to read and seemed to be written by a very disturbed person.  It stayed that way for a few weeks and then it was changed.

Here’s something else:  Hulon Pate left a strange comment on Jimmy’s board on 12/14/07 – and was “called out” for being a “liar” by several of the ducks.  Could this be what spoiled something the MCD people had up there sleeves, that warrented  $69.95 price tag?  It was around this time that the price jumped from $19.95 to $69.95

Kimkins time line as it relates to the MCD site info above.  Most of what I’ve written here comes from old posts at Ducky’s, Slamboard and KK Controversy sites.  My point is to try and find a connection (in regards to dates) between MCD and Heidi.  For instance, cause and effect…. if something happened at KK, did it affect MCD in someway?? Or vice versa??

  • 4/22/06 – With the agreement of Heidi Diaz, Kimkins.com is registered in Catherine MacDonald’s name at GoDaddy.com
  • 4/25/06 – The partnership agreement between Catherine and Heidi was signed
  • 6/8/06 – Kimmer leaves LCF and starts Kimkins.com
  • 6/12/06 – Tippy joins Kimkins and quickly starts the Kimmer Foster Kid Challenge

  • 4/07 –         Christin has a Womans’ World photoshoot in California
  • 6/12/07 – Woman’s World Kimkins article hits the news stands

Catherine was Kimmer’s business partner from April until September 2006. Her husband, Martin Higgins, broke the private eye pictures of Heidi on Slamboard. Do either Catherine or Martin know who Bonnie Luper is? If Bonnie actually lost her weight on Kimkins, she could have started in the timeframe while Catherine was still Kimmer’s partner.

    Very good point, Anonymous!
Maybe Catherine or Martin will drop by a let us know if they can recall anything about Bonnie Luper or the Magic Chicken Diet.

If there is a connection, I bet someone knows about it.

    I sure wish they’d share.

My thinking is this. In the beginning (cue symphonic music) Kimmer and Catherine created Kimkins.com. Kimmer managed to exploit Catherine’s time and patience to the extent that Catherine allowed Kimmer to assume full ownership after six months. Once Catherine was out of the picture, Kimmer managed to get Woman’s World Magazine interested in the Kimkins diet, and it was very good.

But Kimkins.com had been Catherine’s brainchild, and was largely Catherine’s work product. Kimmer foresaw a giant windfall from the magazine article, but the snake in the garden (so to speak) was that Catherine might figure out a way to sue Kimmer and get a share in the proceeds. What to do? Legal hassles are costly and time consuming and you can’t be sure how they will turn out. One way to foil Catherine’s possible claim on Kimkins.com would be to have a second site up and ready to go. The second site would have no connection to Kimkins.com, other than the fact that it used the same formatting and features. It would have been set up by a different web designer and would have been owned by somebody who had no financial interest in Kimkins.com. All Kimmer would have to do is move to the new site, offer former Kimkins members a free membership there, and Catherine would be left to run Kimkins.com without the slim and attractive Kimmer to draw in new clients.

As it turned out Catherine never said boo. But Kimmer was looking for snakes and not ducks. When the ducks came along, she thought she still had a perfect backup plan. But the ducks found out about it, and the rest is history.

Just a little bedtime story, which may be completely imaginary.

    eewwww!

Sounds more like a NIGHTMARE than a bedtime story. Now, I’m going to be up ALL night. LOL

But, that would be right up Heidi’s alley. Sounds just like something she’d do.

I like the way you think, Anonymous. Keep telling me stories!

I hope you slept okay, MJR!

I copied your timelines into Word and put the Kimmer stuff in one color and the MCD in another. Then I put the two timelines together and printed them out. It suggests that there may be a process of cause and effect going on. (Something significant happens to Kimmer, and shortly thereafter, a change is made at MCD.)

The combined timelines also suggest that making money does not seem to be the objective of the MCD. There is very little marketing, even though Bonnie could have used the comments at LCF to guide her into the types of promtion Kimmer had done. Why try to clone Kimmer’s site, but not Kimmer’s marketing? Also, David’s ad specifically requested that the site be search engine optimized. Why did he want that if he wasn’t going to use it?

  6. Yust Yucky Says:

Brilliant, utterly brilliant. ::dazed:: Gonna reread the post and the comments again … you guys are amazing. Truly.

  7. Mad For Plaid Says:

I couldn’t help but notice that the MCD price went up after KK’s assets were frozen.

Heidi was complaining about not having any money after her assets were frozen. When did she complain/file to have her assets unfrozen? (very technical terms here – I’m no lawyer)

Also, with only 20 members, not archives on the posts on MCD (they went poof after the update), therefore no active members… wouldn’t “Bonnie” want to make sure she got as much money as possible from any new members coming in?

I could be completely wrong, just saw a couple dots that might somehow connect.

  8. Anonymous Says:

    Mad for Plaid–

The whole marketing thing of the MCD doesn’t make sense to me.

If you have a unique product that is in demand (Wii, iPhone), you hike up your price to get as much money as you can before a competitor figures how how to enter the niche.

If you have a well-known competitor who is in trouble (in this case, it would be Kimkins, which is virtually identical to the MCD), you either increase your advertising or undercut their price (or both) to pull market share away from that competitor.

Instead, Bonnie raised her price and continued not to advertise. What’s up with that?

  9. Mad For Plaid Says:

Heidi is too busy right now marketing KK (while the ducks pull as many weeds as possible, as quickly as possible) to do any marketing of MCD.

Did I just imply that I believe the two are VERY closely linked? Oh yeah… I wouldn’t even be surprised if the original posts on the MCD.net site were nothing more than a captain inspired bit of lunacy, or perhaps Hidey just hoping to somehow throw the ducks off the trail. Then when she sobered up, going back and changing it all to glowing praise of MCD and “Bonnie”.

Which I’m not entirely sure “Bonnie” is real, at least in the sense that she’s the one behind this. Given someone’s admitted penchant for stealing photos, making up success stories, stealing identities – what if she came across some site where she found several photos of the same woman, someone whose information could be used without her ever knowing about it?

Honestly, Bonnie may be smiling in all those photos, but she doesn’t look healthy. She looks more like someone with a terminal illness, smiling pretty and looking happy for the camera. Even the picture with the two other women who are supposedly on her diet – good grief, she looks like she’s leaning on them, and can’t stand on her own without their support!

That’s why I pointed out how the MCD price all of a sudden went up when KK’s assets were frozen. IF they are as closely linked as one would think, based on the fact that they’re not only touting similar diet plans, but that the MCD site design was cloned from KK, I suspect the thinking was that this will be the backup site, for whenever the AG/Feds/whoever pulls the plug on the KK site.

As far as raising prices on both sites, instead of trying to undercut each other – well, to me that’s just another big red flag that neither site is considered to be any kind of competition for the other, instead more like some kind of back-up or “sister site” – same scam, different site, just to try to fly under the duck radar, when we have the evidence that Hidey planned to start a back up site to have ready if KK went down. But we caught on to it far too early for Hidey’s plan, which is why she’s taken us on this merry chase through .net land.

This is all just my theory, just thinking out loud, trying to put the puzzle pieces together.

  10. kimkinscam Says:

    Anonymous,
I think you are on the right track. However, wouldn’t Heidi want to keep up the marketing and continue to draw in as many members as possible to Kimkins – (mainly because she has already spent all that money and such on advertisement there) – at least until she KNOWS for sure that the site will be shut down? Remember, Heidi thinks she’s smarter then everyone and claims to be judgment proof, she also thinks there’s nothing wrong with bad publicity (still brings in members). Maybe MCD is ONLY the very LAST resort, “back up” plan. She may be trying to stay far away from MCD out of fear the ducks would find out. So, marketing that site, at this time, could be dangerous for her. She leaves behind too many cookie crumbs! She makes $10 more per person at KK – and people are still signing up (which blows my mind). So, maybe she feels that she can continue on this way, up until she is forced to close the doors. She probably thinks she’ll get the heads up from her attorney in plenty of time to move the members from KK to MCD. How she would get away with all that…. I haven’t a clue. Seems like the authorities would be watching her every move. Who knows? Certainly, not me! Like you, and the others, it’s a theory and nothing more.

    Mad for Plaid
I agree with you too! I think the ducks caught on too quick and Heidi had to change her intended plans for MCD and it’s marketing. She knows we are watching and she knows we’ve caught on to MANY MANY of her shady tactics. I wouldn’t put anything past Heidi! She’d steal ANYTHING if she thought she could get away with it. Including identities! But, I’ve got to believe that she has to think twice, now, before making a move – Knowing that the ducks are Hot On Her Trail!!

Ok, another question…. Didn’t I read somewhere that Brandon recently bought a whole bunch of domain names? Where did I read that and what does that mean?

  11. Anonymous Says:

    Two more dates:

08/01/06 – Bonnie starts her diet
    06/12/07 – Bonnie’s 50th birthday–she has lost 160 pounds in 10 months

Sometime after starting her weightloss, Bonnie realized that she needed a “new” diet because she couldn’t always get the special food she needed. She says that in the past she had done “Atkins low carb, low fat, Weight Watchers, low calorie, grapefruit diet, cabbage soup diet, diet patch, Jelly Belly bean diet, Herbal life, Shaklee, tops, figurines, diet pills along with so many others that I finally decided enough is enough. … I would need to put together a plan that would combine a lot of the others I had tried before…”

Notice that Stillman’s is not mentioned. What would have prompted Bonnie to combine all those diets and come up with something that was nearly identical to Kimkins? Especially since this new diet was created during the time that the Kimkins site had been launched and was starting to take off? Is it possible that Bonnie became a Kimkins member but was mostly a lurker? Is it possible that she posted there under an unfamiliar screenname and (for whatever reason) Heidi decided not to use her as a success story the way she did with Christin? Are there any Ducks out there who can remember a Kimkins member who fits Bonnie’s profile?

  12. One does not use a cadaverous-looking loser as a come on, whereas an attractive freshfaced young woman like Christen fills the bill. I can see Heidi passing up Bonnie in favor of Christin, if, indeed, she knew about Bonnie on Kimkins. That’s not hard to accept.

  13. mariasol Says:

Great job! I just have the following to add:
    # The MCD website goes down on December 13, 2007
    # Hulon Pate, Bonnie’s son-in-law, leaves a comment on my blog on December 14, 3:30 AM
    # On December 15 (according to Tippy’s shortlived blog) Heidi Diaz sends an email to Brian (at the Camp) claiming to have shut down the MCD website
